Not at all, both Cottesmore and Wittering have stood down the Sqns, the Execs are working out what to do next!

Just seen a Nimrod flying over Waddington. Looked like it did a circuit, don't know if it landed though.

Wittering will cease flying ops on 29/10. On the same day 41(R) Squadron will lose its Harriers.

Indeed, they will move to Cottesmore and then 800 and 1(F) Sqns will cease flying by the end of March 2011!

ALL Harrier Flying Operations will CEASE by the FIRST of APRIL 2011

Whilst questioning one of my Wittering Spies, some good news was forthcoming, 4(R) Sqn are to fly on until the 15th December and a 16 ship formation is being planned to fly around the local area as a goodbye. :ymapplause:

Final date to be confirmed. ;)

I have received an email from RAF Cottesmore, the Formation Flight around local villages is confirmed in the planning stage and appears to be in conjunction with the Wittering event. I am promised as much notice as they can give me and will of course post all the details here! :D

Keep mid December free if you can! ;)

Fun day at Coningsby :-o

41aqn Tornado declared an emergency and ended up having to use the cable, which I had never seen before :-o
First time for me since I started going in 2005. Not bad odds :))

Anyway, all down safely, runway closed for about half an hour, then back to business \:D/ :ymapplause:
Good job by all the crews :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Especially as ejecting was mentioned at one point :-o
