That's how poor old XM603 ended up looking as bad as it does. :(

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

I was refering to the quality of the paint, not the wielder of the brush. :p

Oh dear, here we are again!

"Despite its financial challenges, the Trust has been a generous supporter of good causes. The aircraft flew for Coventry Airport’s Help For Heroes event and two weeks later for the BBC’s Children In Need. A new relationship has been formalised with Aerobility (formerly the British Disabled Flying Association) to provide joint promotional opportunities, supporting a charity that transforms the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people by allowing them to fly and even qualify for a pilot’s license. Education remains a core objective and the Key Stage1 &2 pack for schools has now been audited and given top marks. It is ready for distribution and the next key stages are in development."

WHY is this ONLY NOW coming together, FAR TOO LONG OVERDUE!!!!!!!!!!! ~x(

“2011 will be a turning point in the way we manage the Trust,” promises Dr Pleming.

Now where have we heard that before? :-?

liked this bit -

Yep people are willing to part with their money either for their children or when they believe they get value for money!!!

Taken from the press release:
High-end luxury experiences will be offered through the now proven relationship with 2Excel Aviation, operator of The Blades aerobatics team.
That rules me out then. Would never be able to afford anything like that :(. But it might all be irrelevant at the beginning of November. :| :|

You're not alone in asking that question. Apparently not until VTTS is on a sound financial footing...

Whatever one thinks of Dr. P, he continues to add profile to VTTS as a known 'name'.

I don't think 558 will ever be on 'sound' financial footing.

I THINK he fails to keep his promise! I also feel that if I was lucky enough to be the MAJOR BENEFACTOR that 558 needs, one of the major reasons why I wouldn't hand cash over would be that Dr Pleming is still there! ~x(

Trustees meeting next Thursday then!!

http://www.vulcantothesky.org/news/133/82/Last-flying-Vulcan-runs-out-of-time-on-Thursday-28th.html

I see it says they need to be sure they have £300k by the end of the week - I thought it was £400k - why can't they pick a figure and stick with it?

From the article you offered;

"Last flying Vulcan runs out of time on Thursday 28th.

Thursday’s Trust meeting could ground or sell one of Britain’s most loved aircraft"

SURELY in order to SELL 558 one would need an interested party with lots of money!
That person would be better off waiting until the whole operation brings in the receiver!

So, they have the meeting on Thursday night, and say that they don't have quite enough money. There is then 3 more days to get the money in. I thought that the meeting would have been on the last day. Will the public be told on Friday morning what has happened, or will they keep it to themselves until Monday 1st November?
