Unless I read it wrong the review of 2010 and no mention of education? I thought that was suppose to be a major part of the project it gets mentioned in all the pomotional videos, just seems bit strange to me.

I see they spent just over half of the money set aside for education on education. I have seen it said there has been great inroads made with that side of things but it is not yet ready to publish!

I wonder when we will be told all of the details?

Found this link to the 2009 accounts on PPRuNe.

It is a strange document. It is titled as the annual report to October 2009, but the descriptive part runs right up to a few weeks ago.

I'll think you will find that the documents although dated August 2010 refer to the financial year 2008/2009.

That's why they look a bit confusing.

Yes, but I would have expected the verbal, descriptive part to also be for 2008/2009, but it isn't. The description of activities continues right up to this summer in places.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I expect all the parts of an annual report to refer to the same year. ;)

bit quiet on the funding front, doesnt seem much energy from the management to get it moving at all, 7 days in £21000 received at that rate they will be lucky to reach 100K

Things do normally pick up towards the end of the funding period - fingers crossed it will this time,

but who knows there is a lot of ground to make up...

From past experience I reckon on the 29th/30th there will be some news and then we can look forward to Jan/Feb/Mar until 'we need something between 500,000 and 900,000 or 558 will be unable to fly in 2011', that is if my understanding of the updates is that the 365,000 is only for the winter servicing, not to get it in the air next year, I know I have probably misread something again, hopefully :p

......and if you wait long enough it scrolls through the ticker line on the home page, and then you have to wait so long for it to come through again, to check you got the message and number right, that you probably give up. ~x(

Is it that stupid to promote other ways of raising funding more prominently when the network charges etc. snaffle 40+% of a text donation?

Gully

I agree that the most "profitable" donation routes should be given priority publicity, but if the 40% "charge" is correct, shouldn't it be made clear?

TVOC website wrote:You can also TEXT a donation anytime to the value of £3 by texting VULCAN to 82055 Calls cost £3 plus one standard rate text message. (Please ensure you have Bill payers permission)

To me, that says they get £3 "value" and the subscriber's "cost" is £3 plus message charge. If that isn't the case, I believe it is a legal requirement to say so.
