It was on the news.

Well it was on the news as to the fact of the money is needed now or they will cease at the end of October.

On one news report it was said that they paid a very high cost for Farnborough but got several possible sponsorship leads.
As was said 'It would appear that they have speculated to accumilate, whether this will pay off only time will tell'.

This is what I mentioned on the other thread, apparently doom & gloom is news as they know from three years of spreading it amongst the club members and supporters and the new PR company are using this as a marketing strategy to get more people on board, apparently ;) .

Though I note that it is back down to 2 years flying life left again, I wish someone would post the real facts and figures and stop changing them. I also noticed that an observation on one of the forums about the maths that don't quite add up again has opened a bit of a debate as usual, allthough I have yet to check recent progress :p .

the flying time left is based on the engine life and airframe fatigue. my over simplified example is forget the engine life....

initial estimate of fatigue life = 10 years
if the first 3 years use up 6 tenths of the fatigue life
then just 2 years flying remains if you fly the aircraft like the previous 3 years

its variable...so figures will change.... fly her more in a year, see here for less years..

Hi Bovril, as I have tried to explain many a time, there appears to be an assumption that one or more of the CAA/Marshalls/BAES/VTST has been so over cautious that the Fatigue life is being burnt up excessively quickly for an aircraft that hardly pulls excessive G. To use what amounts to nearly 7 FI each year is utterly unbelievableto be honest, again I will bow to those who know more than I thought I did about aircraft fatigue and agree that if it is gone it is gone and there is nothing one can do to get it back. Also I did quote Dr P on the other thread who said there was three years left and that 30% reduction in fatigue usage had been achieved, which was why I wish that the information could be more consistant, accurate and factual, instead of so vague.

If they attain IFR capability then I understand the FI consumption will reduce as she can transit higher in 'cleaner (less turbulent) air'.
