Great Video under DIFFICULT conditions Paul. :ymapplause:

What a shame the organisers allowed so many people forward of the crowd line, I bet there were lots of spoilt photographs through the day! ~x(

She's gone to Lyneham - a last flight on Wednesday with the Blades assuming serviceability & the weather play ball.

I have read they need a clear corridor from M4 to Sywell but that covers a fair area. Sorry can't pinpoint it more that.

After several evenings of processing I've finally completed my photos taken at the Coventry Fly-In.

I hope you enjoy looking... OR - Its a good solution to insomnia.... I even created a website specially for the purpose as the topic doesn't really fit in with any of my other websites.

http://coventryairport-fly-in.fotopic.net/

My particular favorite photo is of The Tornado (More info please if anybody can provide it) taking off with the "afterburners" lit up. Can anybody describe what that actually does please? I simply don't know these technicalities.

Hi Clive. Excellent pics, as usual. :ymapplause:

The "afterburners" are burning additional fuel (large quantities of it) in the jet pipes to increase the thrust. It is also known as "reheat".

Call in one Saturday if you want more detail.

Thanks to "Sooty" (Eric??) and "Xplumberlives" for the explanation. Now I know why the "re-heat" wasn't lit for the fly-by of the Tornado if it uses so much additional fuel.

It does make for an interesting photo though - so a message to any jet pilots flying over me - If you see me with my big camera out - Please switch on the re-heat... End of message....

Nice photos.

I see the Shack is slowly turning white. :D

Also nice to see that 'Donington Doris', the Jag fire tender still survives.
