I was admiring your new paintwork on Sunday, Gaz. Looks good. Daughter was impressed by the size of the cargo bay too. Have you removed some of the panelling at the back of the cockpit? It looked different somehow.

We opened up the two side panels so you can have a look at the old Stratocruiser fuselage, if you so wish

I seem to recall seing a Boeing livery somewhere on the old fuselage. I'll have a look for it

Wernt they all built pretty quickly to fill the gap as it were, hence using many existing parts from other aircraft.

707 Nose wheels,

Herk engines on something like a Britania's gearbox and props?

First time back up since the baby was born and I spent the whole time trying to find a fuse for our battery charger, no joy. Consequently, the scissor lift is, all but, dead. Quick trip to Maplins this weekend should sort that problem.

I think I've managed to source replacement dials for ALL the ones stolen from the cockpit and all it will cost me is a couple of hours worth of computer repair

The powers that be are still negotiating shipping costs for the new radome. Hopefully that'll be sorted soon too.

Locks were cut off in April.

Besides, it happens on Sundays, when she's open anyway. When I'm there I keep an eye on likely suspects (You can always tell, they all look like Cluny ). But I've not been up on a Sunday for a while

The locks were cut off? I always thought security was really tight there... Even accepting that the whole of a site that size can't be observed the whole time, surely they'd have a reasonable idea who is on site at any given time.

Can't believe stuff goes missing on Sundays either.

Without mentioning any names, the guy who cut the locks is A LOT higher up the food chain than me and he had a good reason. Just wish he'd replaced them after the event.

Didn't see the point in spending more money on new locks only for it to happen again

He cut the locks to allow a school trip access to the aircraft. That was to good reason.

There was a spare key on site. It was taken and never replaced ages ago. It came to the point where we said, if everyone has a key, what's the point in having a lock. Specially when you consider that, it was most likely people on site that stole my torque wrench, because it went between Wednesday and Sunday, no public admission.

Anyhoo, it's all in the past now. DW replaced our tools that were stolen, as for the dials, we have a chance to replace the missing ones. If they go missing again, I'll approach David about locking her up and just let me and him have a key
