It was a American Safety film about the dangers of Liquid Oxygen, had quite a unpleasent but hard hitting end. Certainly left an impact on me.

Thats the one, certainly makes you treat the stuff with respect.

On another note the lady who played Miss Wayward Body is Monica Thimme, she appeared in Playboy in July 1976. :D

To the best of my memory I certainly don't recall seeing the Dr FOD videoes when I was in and its not something I think i would forget ;) . The LOX one is interesting in as much as the RAF training was similar and highlighted the issues with grease, oil and spontaneous combustion, when filling the LOX pots on the Nimrod two of the Safety & Servicing notes included 'never LOX on a Tarmac pan' and 'allways use a clean oil free stainless steel drip tray'.

The pan out in Malta was mainly tarmac and we had no stainless steel drip trays, we could not move the aircraft to another hardstanding and the LOX hoses used to leak like a sieve so it went all over your safety kit and onto the tarmac pan but we never had any instances like those shown in the film, maybe just lucky.

I know a lot of guys who after the LOX and Liquid Nitrogen training were so scared of the stuff that they were more likely to have an accident, but it allways paid to treat the stuff with respect despite the above, as the moment you become blaise about it is when you are likely to have an accident

No we played with flowers, flies, berets, shoes and once we decided tp play with a huge bee that got in the LOX bay, we first of all put it in our pressure vessel and took it up to as high an atmosphere as it would go, then took it down as high a vacuum we could get, still alive took it back up to height and tried an explosive de-compression and when the mist cleared it was still alive so my mate dunked it in LOX, that worked :ymdevil:
