Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

Aha you can't pressure DT, he will just dig his heels in :)

It has in fact been mentioned to him numerous times & he has on occasions not dismissed it out if hand, Not only is he too busy at the moment - [it would have to wait until he retired] but I'm convinced he just doesn't understand how or why anyone would find it interesting.

I think that last sentence is probably spot on - I think it applies to many professionals who just do their job and do not reslpise howm interesting it is for those of us who are passionate about the subject but were never able to fulfil our apirations. Reading and/or talking abouit it is the next best thing.

My tongue was in my cheek, MF - he will be left in peace - for now! :)

Youd soon know I think like many on here and the other place I watched the Vulcan often in it's last years on the display flight and the fluid motion was like a signature back then I guess she was a good deal heavier than now,but after the fist couple of times I knew we were in for a treat when the PA announced who was flying her .

The books I enjoy reading the most are the factual ones and also autobiographies I can and do loose myself in them for days

Just to complete the picture for FF, DT also "drives" the most powerful remaining Vulcan, for which we at Wellesbourne are very grateful. :ymapplause:
Sooty

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.
