Lowestoft pics 13-8-10

Postby Sickbag_andy » Sat Aug 14, 2010 9:43 am

Some of my vast array of pics from Lowestoft - will post more when I have time to endure Photobucket! In direct contrast to Thursday when the Vulcan suffered almost the worst of the weather (only the Dakota fared worse) the sun came out just as her display started much to the pleasure of the (by then) very damp crowd.

First of all the volunteers hard at work on the Vulcan Village. Richard and Kate clark in the foreground spreading the word whilst in saide the team serve the customers – the one in the hat in the right hand end is Gregg who is a master salesman and tested my will power to the limit as far as emptying my wallet was concerned, if he’d had his way every penny would have gone plus my credit card limit! – good work Gregg!

Now the vulcan

This was photo no. 558 today so had to post it!:

The final pass , undercarriage just retracting followed by the start of a power climb out (complete with howl) and at that point I stopped clicking and watched as the aircraft did a wing over beyond the vertical – although the commentator said he couldn’t possibly confirm it! – I just watched in amazement -thanks Kev for a fantastic display

Now – how much would the Trust charge for a Vulcan flypast for a wedding?
Most marrying couples who decide on a beach holiday go to the Carribean or somewhere exotic but this couple chose today at Lowestoft and right in the middle of the Vulcan display went down to the beach to take some photos and had a Vulcan flypast as a wedding present – they looked surprised but they and their guests certainly appeared to enjoy it. I’m sure Kev waggled the wings as a congratulatory tribute as he went over them – lucky ****S and it was Friday the 13th as well!

will post more later, once I have gone through all 1486 of them!

:)) I meant touch n go's because at RIAT last year I had one swoop down and take a donut out of my hand! It was like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie :-o
