RAF to shrink to World War One levels

The RAF will shrink to its smallest size since the First World War, under unprecedented cuts being proposed at the Ministry of Defence.

OUCH !
Would the last serviceman please turn the lights out !
Looking at the general and specialist press over the last few weeks there are lots of rumours and each editor puts his own slant on the stories. Only time will tell. Still only rumours though and until the SDR has run its course nobody knows really what the outcome will be. The one thing that can be certain is that there are always options.

Options for CHANGE! ;)

I personnally feel that the ONLY certainty is that there will be MASSIVE cuts! :(

I can't get upset about it until it's official - but I do think any cuts need to start at the top!!!

Wasn't it just after Iraq in 1991 they said air power was the way to go because early strikes had neutralised a lot of the threats from ground forces?

Rather than your suggested approach, perhaps we could just take a back seat and stop sticking our unwanted parts into other countries bits! ;)

Let the UK concentrate upon defending the UK and NOT trying to sort out the rest of the worlds problems! :ymapplause:

I'm definately going to hold back my opinion on this until the Review is final, as I give the papers the same regard as toilet paper.

I'm sorry - I thought that's how it is now - have I missed something :( :(

Surely you don't need a huge armed force if you don't enter in to wars and conflicts that have nothing to do with you in the first place ~x( All we are nowadays is the USAs forward base ....and we just follow meekly on behind them like lapdogs X(

The blokes that provide those hearses that drive through Wootton Bassett are getting very rich bringing our lads home from a conflict we shouldn't even be involved in :( :( Teaching the Afghan army to look after themselves - my arse ~x(

Charity begins at HOME.
Lets make our shores impenetrable Keep anyone that we don't want OUT and we are well on the way.......
We can also use the Services to run the detention centres so that there is no political bias. That allows the existing services to be deployed elsewhere.
We can also use them in lieu of the detention centres for our feckless yoof.
A few early mornings and a bit of exercise is good for 'moral fibre'....... (if you get my drift). ;) ;)

I could expand further but having had a beer this could rapidly descend into a rant............. [-x

As an EX serviceman, why would I have wanted to look after all the scrotes that the police and prison service can't be bothered to deal with? Those PROBLEMS should be sorted out without forcing them upon the military!! ~x(
