Hendon RAF Museum

Postby Lucas1860 » Sat Jul 31, 2010 3:11 pm

Whilst in London last weekend I decided to pay a visit to Hendon. Fantastic museum, not very good for photography, some of the exhibit halls are very dark. Enjoy

Thanks Jim - unfortunately most museums aren't good for photographs either too dark or to cluttered.

Good to look round tho

I have repeatedly tried to get an explanation from the Museum as to why the Battle of Britain hall is quite so dark, but without results, I presume they don't care that photography of some unique exhibits is impossible!

The Battle of Britain Hall is really poor lighting, even as a visitor not wishing to take shots, it would be very hard for some to view the exhibits.

Not bad Cluny, did you use a tripod?

Nice shots.

I have been on board the Lanc at Hendon with my late father.

They look big from the outside but bloody hell they ain't that big when you get on board.

Total and utter respect to anyone who had to spend 8 hours on board with some bugger shooting at you.......

I too think the Hall is too dark so take your tripod and piss them off. When they tell you to stop using it, tell them you will when they turn the bloody lights on. =)) =))

Many thanks Jim and Cluny for posting all the pics. I am especially grateful to Cluny for his (penultimate) photo, showing the statue of Sir Keith Park (which was the 'Temporary' statue, on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square for six months). Nice to see him in his 'new home'!
