I believe Farnborough have stricter rules for display. When I was there 2 years ago every display seemed further away and higher than other venues.

Had been hoping to get to Farnborough this weekend but it seems most of the interesting stuff has gone... No F22 for instance X(

Only thing worth going for is the Vulcan but thats very last display of the day.... Ahh well, looks like I'll be doing something else this weekend!!!

I'm sure DT has some spare cash hanging about ;)

Its annoying though, one of the few planes the public never sees in this country and it leaves from what is a major airshow early. Ahh well, at least I dont have to put up with that bloody annoying american commentator!!! =)) =))

Hereeeeeeeeeeeeeee Isssssssssssssssssss Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Raptorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Like a speeding bullet... Is it a bird, is it a plane, NO! It'ssssssssssssss the Raptorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

=))

That is pants that the Raptor has gone though, the most money Farnborough would take would be at the weekend, so to remove a plane which will draw in the biggest crowds is a bit pants!

Really enjoyed Farnborough! :D It's a bit different to the others with all the commercial stuff on display. The A380 was pretty amazing! :-o
558 put on a very good show! :D

Even got in and out without to much hassle....arrived at 7.30am! :p

Mags, I agree the A380 is AMAZING, but I can't agree that it's PRETTY! ;)

I remember standing next to Martin at Waddington a few years ago when the NZ757 displayed - he was flabbergasted & said "I didn't know they could do that" :)) :)) :))

Big is beautiful!! ;) :D

I went on Sunday and (after the Vulcan cancellation I might not have bothered if I hadnt bought tickets in advance) got to say that when I found that the Raptor had departed along with the 787 and A400 I was even more disappointed as they were the other things I really looked forward to seeing.
Re the display line I noticed as I left on the shuttle bus to the station that although the crowd line is quite close to the runway ( my cap was blown off when the A380 took off!) the markers for the display line were much further back.

I posted a link to my pics in Jim's thread but in case you missed it here it is again:
http://www.superguppy.co.uk/images/gall ... allery.htm

Re the traffic , after taking almost 2 hours from Essex to drive within 5 miles of Farnborough then another 2 hours to get parked (and leaving was worse) brother and I decided to drive to London (Blackhorse Rd stn) and tube across to Waterloo then train / shuttle bus to Farnborough and door to gate was about 2 3/4 hours (we left just after 8) and going home we walked out at 4.45 and I was indooors at 7.20 so it was much quicker and easier aand I wasn't knackered by the time I got there ( probably only cost an extra fiver each) so IF I go in 2 years time shall do the same again although I thought the display was a bit lightweight this year compared to 2008.

Looks like it will be Lowestoft for me now if I want to see '558 fly this year - if so I shall look to train the last bit again, far less hassle.
