What's the realistic likelyhood that this one gets airbourne too?

Absolutely no chance at all. There is no practical way the airframe could be brought back to a condition the CAA would consider airworthy, and there are NO airworthy Olympus 301s anywhere in the world.

And there is no way 655 would ever do a "Teasin' Tina", because she is always taxied by competent and responsible aircrew.

And the final nail in the 655 return to flight campaign's coffin is that even if she could by some miracle be classed as airworthy, Wellesbourne's runway isn't long enough.

I just googled this because I wasn't sure what it was, and wow ,they got lucky!!

There are those who claim it was pure skill, but personally I think your assessment is spot on. ;)

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

I think most of the others apply to how they got up there. Lucky only applies to getting down again in one piece. :p

Yes, but never sober enough to be concerned about THEIR condition. :))

One roar none of us will ever hear again is that of 4 Vulcans on the ORP doing a simultaneous mass rapid - now that was a roar to make the ground tremble!

There's nothing quite like 16 Olympus 301s all running up together!

I remember being on starter crew at the Finningley Air show in 1971. The 4 a/c were sat there at 05 with there Rovers running, and two little old ladies stood as close as they could get to the a/c were heard to say "Aren't they quiet for such big aeroplanes". At that moment all 4 simultaneously did a Mass Rapid and the poor dears nearly jumped out of their skins. :))
