RIAT WEATHER....................

Postby Nickolas » Wed Jul 14, 2010 1:45 pm

DAN H

For those going to Fairford this week I've got some info on weather, a colleague of mine has a daughter who works for the met office and he got her to send me a bespoke forcast for the Swindon area for the next few days. It is as follows:

Wednesday: Warm sunny spells but also scattered heavy and possibly thundery showers. Breezy. Max 21°C (70°F). Showers largely dying out in the evening then mainly dry overnight with clear spells. Min 15°C (59°F).

Thursday: Starting mainly dry but increasingly cloudy and windy, with heavy rain arriving later in the day. Max 20°C (68°F). The rain clearing by the end of the night but staying quite windy. Min 13°C (55°F).

Friday: Another day of sunny spells and scattered blustery showers, these possibly heavy and thundery. Max 19°C (66°F). A few showers possible overnight otherwise largely clear. Min 11°C (52°F).

Saturday: The odd shower possible in the morning then becoming dry and less windy with warm sunny spells. Max 21°C (70°F). Dry with clear spells overnight. Min 13°C (55°F).

Sunday: Hazy sunny spells. Any rain looks like staying away to the north of Wiltshire. Warm with light breezes. Max 23°C (73°F).

So basically, if youre camping for the next few days you might want to bring a brolly but if youre just coming on the show days you
should be fine.

I just though it hilarious that you put all that official Met Office gumph in when really it came down to your summing up sentence ......

You didn't need the Met Office for that - I always bring a brolly - we live in the UK =)) =)) =)) :D

Last year at RIAT we took rain coats anoraks ;) , umbrellas, chairs, boots and a waterproof rucksack. That still was not enough! We were camped there with the little man in his pushchair, chairs either side, umbrellas up, huddled together as it was bloody freezing. I think this year full waterproofs might have to be packed in the boot.............Just incase :D

The weather does look like its improving for the weekend B-) .

I had my walking boots & rain proofs over my jeans & leather jacket & was warm as toast. I know some said they didn't thaw out until Monday evening!! :))

I stupidly forgot to leave my fold up chairs to dry out last year, I just bunged them in the shed. I dug them out to sit on at a carboot sale I did a few months ago and they were mouldy as hell X( !

It's absolutely humping it down in this part of Gloucestershire right now, hope it clears up by the morning.

It's windy and cold today. Cloud is low too so all the displays are flat and many have been cut short. Still good fun though :)
