The above site is cheap because what they are selling is cheap!! My lens hood is black metal and lined with black felt, not made of cheap rubber that will perish or deform.

I love Jessop's Mayfly, the guys in there are knowledgeable and very friendly. I always get a coffee in my local one and they don't mind customers being really "hands on" with the products. I don't care if I pay a little more because a) it's local, b) if something goes wrong I can take it back and talk face to face with someone and c) I like to try before I buy oh and d) the latte is SO good and it's free :D :D

The Premier hoods are usually Marumi hoods..

Not cheap 'n nasty but rigid and not deformable rubber. They are plastic. and Very light.

I've only been in Jessops once, when I handled my camera - whilst I'm not up for spending more than I need I do appreciate Customer Service, goodness knows it's in short supply!!

Went to a local cafe the other day - serving freshly squeezed orange juice from a machine on the counter - as its a bit slow they sometimes do some in advance and had full glasses out ready - it was a hot day and they'd been a bit over zealous with the pre-squeezing and some glasses looked a little jaded.

My wife asked the young teenage girl behind the counter - very politely - how long had the glasses been there - the answer was 'why?' - my wife went on to explain that some glasses may have been there a while therefore not freshly squeezed and in this heat not pleasant - answer was 'So!'

WHAT do you do .... waste of time - with that type of attitude - saying anything further...... just appalling. ~x( X(

I'm sat in Costa coffee as I type this (preparing for my interview :p ) and I must say the staff in here must have received the same level of training! I had my coffee more or less thrown at me X(

I'll have to remember to find a Branch of Jessops next time I need a coffee before an interview.............Anyone know if they have one in Eastleigh? :))

Customer service is the one overall riding factor in my book -

I used to buy my printer inks from a company who changed their ad to say 'Free P&P when bought on line'
[I always used to phone my order] so I went on line and ordered, I was charged some thing like £7 P&P but didn't realise until after I had pressed the confirm button - so I rang them immediately & they said 'No you didn't choose the free P&P option' I explained I didn't realise I needed too, the ad said FREE P&P and not the OPTION of free P&P. Anyway to cut a long story short it wasn't the fact that they had duped me & many others I assume - it was the snotty attitude from the person at the other end of the phone. Had they said we are very sorry we'll make it more obvious in the ad I would have chalked it done to my tardiness, as it was I never ordered from them again - they eventually went bust.

What's the job interview for Stiggy? hope it goes well :D

Blimey - you're very brave :D I've just given that game up after 30 odd years :p I still work with a couple of IFAs but I just do their admin now ;) I de-regulated as an IFA 4 years ago then gave up mortgage advising last year - a real 'weight off' :)) :))
And you're not American so it's Adviser :p :p :p :p :p ( I hate AdvisOr ;) )

Good luck with it - hope you get it .... fingers crossed :D

Sorry your pedantness :-@ .

Unfortunately for me, its the only thing I'm qualified to do. I definately understand the 'weight off' bit, its been hell trying to hit any sort of targets on the mortgage side of the industry. I've been out of work now for 4months (again) and its definately even harder than it was this time last year. I've been considering a complete career change, but its almost impossible at the moment to find a good company to work for that will pay for all the training etc.

Estate agents in my area are thriving at the moment as there are so many people upgrading to bigger homes, they just can't find customers who need mortgages X(

EEeeeeeewwwww get her ...... breaking up the off topic mens support club :p :D

Yes you take lovely pictures - now go away and play with your ball whilst Mr Stigish and I talk about important things :ymdevil:

So.... Stiggy - will you be independent at Connells or tied ... I found selling independent mortgages really hard to keep up with - FAR too many deals to remember and get to grips with - 20 years at Bristol & West was so much easier .... this is what we do - take it or leave it :D :D In the end I left B&W as my targets were the same for mortgages as the blokes in London and Birmingham :-o :-o :-o :-o Nonsense management ~x(

And of course down here the average wage is so very low but the house prices are so very high X( Hence - £25k salary - needs £200K loan = very hard work + = not meeting targets :)) :))

Connells is a tied position to Skipton Building Society, the other interview I had with Countrywide Mortgages was Independent.
Sounds like you had the same problem I had when I worked for Nationwide BS - Same targets where ever you worked. Average property price in Christchurch £197,500............Average salary £14,750 = Mission impossible!
The Estate Agent/Negotiator side of the business seems to be more fruitful at present and I like the idea of having more oppotunity to make my own destiny. The salaries are lower, but the OTE's are alot higher :-? .
