Blimey..............Looks like I'll have to watch the F1 live instead of the recorded version, get the good lady to cook the roast, make sure none of the kids expect to watch "their programmes" and hope it pisses down with rain so I've got the perfect excuse for not going out

I think after all that, I might be looking to get a life?

Watched the 2 bolded programmes on Monday night and they were both very enjoyable, particularly the Vulcan one and the project behind getting her back to the sky and the first flight. Be good to see an updated version of that made, showing the path since that day.

Stealth one was very interesting, spent a lot of time talking about the first one to be shot down in Serbia. Hopefully catch some of the others later tonight and tomorrow.

Finally a new documentry instead of the same old ones being repeated. A very touching end to the programme too showing grown men shedding a few tears about her retirement.

Well worth the watch if you missed it on 4oD.

I'm somewhat laid up at present after tearing my upper right leg muscle... :((

But as luck would have it, the Discovery Channel spent the afternoon showing the series Classic British Aircraft. I guess some of you will have seen these, because I think they are a few years old (2004 if memory serves), but if you get chance they are well worth a look. Aircraft covered include Trident, VC10, Canberra, Nimrod, Avro Anson, Blackburn Beverly, Twin Pioneer, Victor, Buccaneer, Shackleton, Meteor, Vampire...etc.

What made it even more interesting from my point of view was that much of the filming for the Victor and Buccaneer was done at Bruntingthorpe, and the Twin Pin, Anson and Shackleton at Coventry, which we only visited a week ago!
