Reds - Silverstone F1

Postby Thumper » Sun Jul 11, 2010 3:33 pm

While you were all spamming away on here I went to watch the Reds at Silverstone. Unfortunately the Tiffy pulled out at the last minute but the Reds new display made up for it.

Naturally I paid the £40 to get in ;)

I now match the Red Arrows as I am a nice Lobster colour so I'm going to devour a Magnum White Choc ice :D

Thanks Ace, totally different settings to what I have always used, getting ever closer to fully manual mode now! Had my new Cokin Linear Polariser filter on today and gotta say it's the best £60 I have ever spent! :D

Also had my new Canon Lens hood on too, again, money well spent! :)

Sooty

Thanks Sooty :))

I'm gonna email the team at Scampton the pics as Tiger Tim suggested, heck it can't hurt over the 10,000 they probably get everyday =))

Nice idea Cluny I was absolutely ROASTING sat there in my leathers. Funnily enough when I arrived I saw 2 familiar faces, the elderly couple that were there last year and they remembered me! Plus a really annoying pr!ck who knew everything and felt the need to let everyone know that and also had the worlds biggest scanner, there's always one aye!

Yes Ace, cropped about half of them and played with the saturation level for the ones that came out slightly under exposed, despite the new lens hood the sun was incredibly bright, thats it though, don't like to do too much fiddling.

Stiggy, the lens I have had since new.... from 1997 ;) It's a Canon 75-300 off my old 35mm EOS 1000F.

I know Jessops get knocked a lot - but they helpful & sometimes by the time you add on P&P their prices are not always that bad.

Thanks SF, the first one you mention is my desktop wallpaper, there's something quite beautiful yet powerful about it :D

http://www.premier-ink.co.uk/photograph%20...%200_397.html

The above site is cheap because what they are selling is cheap!! My lens hood is black metal and lined with black felt, not made of cheap rubber that will perish or deform.

I love Jessop's Mayfly, the guys in there are knowledgeable and very friendly. I always get a coffee in my local one and they don't mind customers being really "hands on" with the products. I don't care if I pay a little more because a) it's local, b) if something goes wrong I can take it back and talk face to face with someone and c) I like to try before I buy oh and d) the latte is SO good and it's free :D :D

Haha must hang out for the coffee then!!! -

I've only been in Jessops once, when I handled my camera - whilst I'm not up for spending more than I need I do appreciate Customer Service, goodness knows it's in short supply!!
