Well I posted a reply to you Ace but it's been deleted for some reason!!!!!!!!!!

Shame I can't remember what I said in detail but I mentioned about me going to Shoreham this year too so if you fancy someone to chat to and the Mrs is OK with it you can chat planes n stuff wit me! And no that's not me hankerin for a lift

Cheers Thumper ,that's a very nice offer ( I think ;) ) unfortunately due to a knee injury ( shrapnel, old war wound ) I cannot make long term plans as a hospital stay is in the air, that's why I can't even order tickets in advance,I have to play each day as is comes ,so I won't know if I can go anywhere until a day or so before BUT if I do go I would be happy to meet you and chat about planes and PROPER motorcycles -eg-Triumphs,BSAs, Vincents etc etc Ace :)

Right was thinking about meet points and times for each day. If we all suggest and then I shall post them alongside the day in my first post.

Suggestions??

Are there some gates better than others to use? Last year we parked & had to walk miles to the tickets booths - I know all their parking is off base but just wondered if some were closer than others.

Can I suggest that for the Sunday a meet is arranged towards the right hand end of the runday (hopefully where the takeoff run starts depending on wind direction). Not right at the end but a couple of hundred yards up. Last year it was'nt that busy until much later in the morning and should allow us to grab a nice pitch on the flightline

I'm quite happy to give people my mobile so as we can sort out where we all are on the day. I'm planning on pretty much just heading for the flightline as and when I get there.

It would seem the direction you are travelling from will depend on what carpark you end up in. Last year I was in the blue carpark which was very close to the entrance in the centre of the base (probably a few mins walk)

Heres the link for the parking/travel details:

Tom/Nicholas..........where do you think you'll be on the saturday? I'm probably looking to get into the base from about 8-8:30am so I can get a good spot.

We're staying down there with friends for a couple of nights & have the choice of turning left of right so could join either the Red or Green route

:(( :(( :(( :((

I've got a ticket for Saturday and I can't go now :(( :(( ~x(

My car decided to start making stupid noises yesterday on the way to work, and on the way home I pulled into my street as it decided to make VERY loud grinding noises and stop (right out side the house fortunately!)

I'm hoping my boss's fella wants my ticket now..... He wants to be my new best friend because I love 558!!!

And we by chance parked next to you - yes it was a LONG way from the gates. Think it was the green route.

If that fails, have you thought about the Train/Shuttle bus option? It might even prove cheaper than travelling by car & with less traffic jams?
