We moved 655 off the pan and parked her on runway 23 this afternoon, ready for the aircrew checks and shakedown tomorrow.

Weather forecast for Sunday is still looking good. \:D/ \:D/

Well what can I say - it was lovely to see everyone again not only Maps aka - RHV, CC, Bovril, Sooty, Marmite but also Wedgy, Dawnie [lovely to meet you] SM, XP, Checkflaps, Coastergirl & KC, 10680, Helen, Cluny, Naddy & Sopwith.......sorry if I've missed anyone.

The day started out not too well when I got a text from SM saying he had set his alarm an hour later than planned!!! [airhead] & then one from Wedgy saying 'Where are you I can see DT"? I was stood next to DT so it was obviously Wedgys eyesight that was the problem!!!! :p

But the day did end on a high when DT told me I was going for taxi on the fast run!!!!! WOO HOO \:D/ I had forgotten what a thrill it is to be in a Vulcan cockpit - Not sure who arranged it but a big thanks anyway!! :D

There was minor hickup when they couldn't get power to the sync bus bar & we had to disembark - however proving just how good the MaPS guy are they managed to sort the problem & we did in fact manage a nose up taxi albeit a little later than planned.

Not sure why but 3 different people asked me what button I pressed that I shouldn't have!!!!! :(( Of course the only side was I didn't get to take any pics with my new camera - so need to visit Coningsby before Waddington air show!! ;)

The weather was beautiful & to prove it I have a rather nice red beacon where my nose should be! :D

What a day! The gremlins tried to stop the fast taxi run, but MaPS pulled out the stops :)
Fantastic weather for it too. I hope the day filled those XM655 coffers :ymapplause:

A year late, but I placed my membership and purchased some merchandise :)

Thanks to everyone involved in making it a great day :) :ymapplause:

I couldn't sort bring myself to delete some photos, so you get about 60% of what I took :p

Looks like a really nice day out and the Vulcan looks beautiful.

Looks like I've gotta bag myself a pilot to get a ride like that!! I hear the new Harrier demo pilot is single ;;)

Gutted I couldn't go but I just don't quite feel up to doing 160 odd miles on the bike on my own :(

Good vid Paul - we were remaking how steady you managed to keep the camera for ages on the slow run.

As I didn't know I was going for a taxi I didn't take many pics as I was waiting for the fast run... but here are a couple of differant ones the first 2 taken on Saturday just before they checked out the systems!!

DT looks like he's getting a bollocking!!! :))

Hi all.

A BIG thankyou to all who attended WW2010 yesterday it was fantastic.
The hickup we had was with the GPU rather than the aircraft but we had to check out the aircraft before we put power back on again.
Mayfly's smile when she got out of the cockpit after the fast run made my day and i think Dave , Mike and Barry put on one of the best fast taxi's i've seen in my 15 years of doing these event's. :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
The rest of the MaPS team did a superb job and i take my hat off to them all. :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
