RIAT Greenham Common 1983

Postby IanM » Fri Apr 16, 2010 3:45 pm

I've mentioned before that first Airshow I attended that I can remember is RIAT 1983 which was at RAF Greenham Common.

I've just found this site http://derbosoft.proboards.com/index.cg ... hread=2248 with pictures of some of the aircraft there and it seems a certain Vulcan we know well was there in her tanker guise...

You don't realise what you miss until it's no longer there!!!!!!
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

I think I paid my one and only visit to Greenham Common that year. But it wasn't 'royal' then.

Lots of classic aircraft in that link.
I'd rather be skiing

How well I remember that show, went on the Wednesday and returned home on the Monday afternoon!

I still have some of the large stickers that were used to adorn the Red, White and Blue F4!

Love the line-up of F4's taken from the rear!

What's the story with the orange German Canberra? Anyone know, please?
