GJD can't say yes ....you need to talk to the DSA only they can...

Wow, doesn't take long to start stripping the consumables and much needed spares does it? A great shame to see but I hope one gets preserved at Brunty..

I'm led to believe that one of the two '10's that arrived last week will be kept in running condition for the CWJ's May Bank Holiday open day... :D

Well, either it's the complete one or they are making a light weight racing version! ;)

I wouldn't bet a mortgage payment on either of them even being intact by the end of May. I heard that DW would LIKE to keep one running but, judging by the speed the scrap guys are stripping the first one, I doubt it very much

From what I have heard both of these have to be gone by May. Once the fleet has been completely retired, the last one into Brunty will be kept as a runner as there will obviously be no need to strip it for parts.....

I heard something similar Avro683, If these are being stripped for spares I doubt DW would have a say in it, other allowing the dismantling to take place at Bruntingthorpe. I hope they do secure one for the museum in the future tho'.

I picked this up on Sunday.

1968 Farnborough programme.
British Bestsellers - VC10 & Lightning.

Coincidence as we looked at both on Saturday.
I will try and do some decent scans of the articles.

i heard that one VC10 will be kept as it is for the brunty open day, and was told this by one of the men scrapping them up there, so fingers crossed we should see it fast taxi down the runway hopefully along with the new arrival of the Nimrod!

It'd be nice! Don't count on it though. Even if they don't scrap them both, still gotta find someone to pilot the thing

I am sure S.M. would volunteer, we all know how often he flies his VC10 in his own little world! ;)

I think the shots of 807 posted this morning curtsey of Key Publishing Forum confirms she will not taxi at CWJ day!
