Thanks for the comments, its appreciated. I noticed after doing a bit more filling/painting that one of the etched panels I stuck on the instrument panels has fallen off and is now missing , so I am going to try the decal for that one position. If that does not work I will buy another etched set and glue it on properly, I thought I was being clever and used normal glue not superglue.

I hate big decals though! Always end up wrecking them. That's why my A380 is SLIGHTLY different from standard, nobody has noticed yet

Like the Harrier, nice colour scheme. That decal looks like it is actually painted, don't think I could do one that size without creases and bubbles in it.

I can usually get the bubbles out. It's when they wrap themselves around themselves and when I try and unfold them, they fall apart.

Finished my 1:72 Bucc at, about, midnight. When I started it I thought it was going to look terrible. The kit was awful, nothing went together properly and bits were missing (It was an ebay purchase). But, I spent a bit of time on it, did a lot of filling and sanding and, in the end, I'm pretty happy with it.






EDIT: Have started the Revell Victor. I've only done the first 2 steps and it appears the criticisms are well founded!! It's gonna be a long build!!

XPL, I thought I had answered your post re link to the Hasegawa weapons set to the effect that the Paveway IV is different, but one of the modelling forums has said that the 6 GBU 12 (Paveway IIs) are almost identical and with a bit of modelling skill (don't really have that yet, but will try) they can be made to look like Paveway IV. So I actually won an E-bay auction for weapons set D and have received them, made them up painted them and will now start the conversion attempt on one of the spare ones as I only need 4.

I have also ordered another airbrush of E-bay as it has bottles rather than an open cup airbrush I have, as I found an interesting point about airbrushing a large model as against the odd trial I did and that is don't do the spraying in your study with the windows and door shut and also don't get to vigorous moving the airbrush as it goes all over the floor and the spray dust makes you cough

The current result on the bits I have had a go at I am pretty pleased with, but I will get and do it in the garage next time to finish off. The Canopy is all done with the rear view mirrors from the etched parts and the Airbrake is also ready. Next is the Landing Gear and refuel probe and when the aircraft is painted stick all the hanging off bits on add decals and then add the weapons to finish it off.

Gaz Like the Bucc, looking good, I only had a brief time with Bucaneers as in sharing a hangar with the servicing teams at Honington when I was on Tornado minors. Good luck with the Victor, sounds like you will need it.

Nearly done, just a few ariels & lights to fit, a few touch ups and the decals to add, I found a few errors in the model and decided that I was trying to be to finicky so I am just going to finish as per instructions. My next model is on its way an Airfix 1/72nd Sentry E3D, I managed to win on Ebay for under what I was prepared to pay.

Offensive and Defensive split load!

Have to admit to a bit of a cheat with the weapons load, there has been a debate of what it can carry and on what pylons on a modeling forum, so I asked our armament experts what to make as the load and which pylons and that is what they told me. With the exception that they did suggest I fit the laser designator pod where the fuel tank is, but I like the tank as that it what I see most of them fitted with.

I am in the last stages with putting decals and minor bits and then it will await a case so I can consider the ground equipment and diorama type stuff as mentioned before, but that may have to wait.
