Did anyone attend the 558 night at Ringway...? i did, and what a setting...! i enjoyed
the entire evening, so ile post just a few shots from my humble little compact camera.

They are fitted to any pure jet aircraft which doesn't use a parachute for reducing the landing length, i.e. civilian and some military.

Most fan jets have a similar arrangement on the bypass flow instead of the jet pipe.

It is the equivalent of reverse pitch on a prop, and is the only way you can get any deceleration force from a jet engine.

the Tornado has them too, if you listen closely when they land , you can hear them actuating....... :D
