Absolutely NO OFFENCE intended, but the 3rd photo reminds me of how strange it will be without seeing DT at the controls and doing his interview bit this year.

Surely record crowds? (cars as far as the eye could see at one point!)

Consolidating the stall pitches into one area was a great idea :ymapplause:

Well done to everyone involved - hope it swells the coffers :D

Excellent day out - well done to all involved.

Good to see Mike P making use of the full length of the runway in the afternoon... ;) Well timed notice when the public were about to be given access to '655 that the brakes may well still be hot! :))

Thanks to all those who came and said 'hi' to us on the VTTS Club stand.

I know we bang on a lot about how short Wellesbourne's runway is, and how little room the aircrew have to work with, but if you watch Bovril's video, you will understand what we mean. When the nosewheel comes back down (which I estimate is at 0:42 into the video) you can clearly see how close the "numbers" at the end of the runway are. If you then play it on to 0:56 you can also see that there is no run-off length at all.

Bravo to the aircrew who put on such a good show for us. :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Absolutely with you on this Sooty. Fast taxies up the hill into a stiffish wind are one thing. Taxying downhill with very little headwind must be very difficult to judge. I can quite understand MP standing on the brakes early, only to release them instantly afterwards. It was a good photo-op though. :ymapplause:

Looking at Roger's superb vid again, just how on earth did Joe L'estrange ever expect to lift off - with enough fuel - to relocate anywhere??? If just before Vr he got the 'abort take-off' warning then several trees would have ruined his day...

Far from. With the engines she's got and a minimum fuel load.....I reckon she'd get off the ground safely. The difference betwen theoretically possible and practically possible is huge. I'd go for it....but then, what do I know?

The brakes were still warm when we her towed back to the pan at 7pm.I reckon that was about the limit for both power being on and speed, but it was very good.

cc.
