Yep, great when people help you out!

EDIT:

Just to let you know, the LPG have been kind enough to let us piggyback on their open day on the 10th April, so, the Guppy will be open for the duration. I'll have a word and see if I can get the Victor cockpit opened up. That's had some work done on it recently I can tell you!

No promises, but, I might be able to open Canopus up for you as well!

Pop over and see us :)

Radome hasn't been touched, much to my chagrin, but, when you're getting a freebie, I suppose you have to accept it.

There was a killer wind blowing up there today so working with bare hands was a nightmare, but, I managed to make some new battery contacts for the steps and get them connected, to my surprise, THEY WORK!! :D

Did a bit of painting, mainly to practise masking around awkward areas (gonna need to do a lot of that soon!!)

Before:

And after:

It bled a bit under the masking tape, as you can see. Nothing that a bit of turps won't fix. I'll be honest, it went better than I thought it would. So I'm pretty confident about attacking the big "1" on the front, once we get the paint ;)

Don't think I ever been to Bruntingthorpe when there hasn't been a wind or it being cold. :))

I thought it was compulsory that all airfields were cold and windy!

Radome is still where we left it! Really want that done by CWJ so a contingency plan me have to be made.

Big step forward today though! We now have AC power:

Which is great because it means we can light the cargo hold up without using the battery. The battery will be saved for the cockpit so we'll get much longer between charges, plus, we can use power tools in there now.

Hopefully, weather permitting, we'll be making a start on the livery this Sunday.

Progress!

I've contacted the only 2 companies that have any (707 & Strato). One met me with complete silence, the other said they could probably help us out, but I haven't heard from them in, about, 6 weeks and they aren't answering my e-mails :(
