Forget the internet, waste of time, good proportion of our supporters do not want or have access to a computer...... Should have been raffled, we did one for a Lightning flight in SA and it raised 54k+..and then there was that Xtype Jag..... all done on a snailmail mailshot and far less supporters...club and friends less than 30,000 in total

It was explained on TVCO forum when questioned that it was a last minute idea from the engineers so ebay was the best option.....

I don't think club members get a lot for their money tbh and I see no reason why a draw can't be made from the club membership at the end of the season for a VIP day... it's what Lincs Lancs Asso. do for their members

I brought this up a few weeks back at a Vulcan lecture with the team there, suggesting that it might be a nice prize (not the full works) if they could do 2 tickets to view the anti-det runs purely as a raffle prize at the Chritmas party. That way, it was available to all club members and a sort of 'perk' that was only available to them as club members. Not knocking the 1K result(every little helps), but even the online raffle for the blades flight made a huge chunk of money (and could have made a lot more but for a tech snag). Maybe it was a tester to see if they can do more of these over the winter.

Interesting though to wonder how many of 558 avid supporters use the Internet. I mean in the days when you could post on the TVOC without being a club member there were not a massive amount of posts ...or indeed this forum given the literally thousands that turn up to see her fly.

I guess with Ebay its easy whereas anything else involves a mail shot and additional cost and admin

Good suggestion MF - we were discussing various ideas last weekend as to how we can give better value to our members.

Wonder if there any possibility that members and contributors (£5 a month for me) may have a chance to attend an anti det run maybe in the new year (did this a couple of years a go at Brunty - it was a great day). Maybe there are access/security issues at Lyneham but it would be nice if possible?
