Losing Faith ?

Postby Pujgnie » Sat Feb 20, 2010 1:23 am

Why o why .. ?

For the last 6 weeks or so I have been sussing out Bournemouth Aviation Musuem with regard a presentation from one of our dedicated engineers.

They are MORE than up for it... they love 558 !! (and are more than willing to support her- whatever it takes)

I have personally met Paul Rushiton (Trustee) and Mark Sheppard to 'bounce' around ideas, thoughts and future proposals. The Bournemouth Echo would be invited as 'guests' (for PR relations ;) ). So far - I have about 23 attendees, and that is WITHOUT media attention - with media PR... it could be potentialy triple that amount.

Having taken the course of requesting info on what is required/details etc from Ian Homer, and trying to arrange promotional stuff for 558.......... has fallen on deaf ears so far. So- I have fired off an Email to Richard Clark tonight with details.

Troops on the ground are trying hard here... the Generals in Command seem to be very unco-operative so far :(

<< Feels like I'm Floggin a dead duck in trying to organize this through the right channels.

Plan B may have to be considered ;)

You are doing what needs to be done.

Keep doing it.

And I won't say anything about why you
haven't gotten any help.

Just keep doing it.

Agree with Dan4th,

Pujgnie, keep going at least you know you have tried your best. I tried something similar through Bournemouth businesses who sponsored the 2008 show and I got the same assistance you appear to be getting now from the top. I carried on until it there was nothing further I could do myself and it was then down to those at the top to pick up the mantle, they did not, using the excuse that because 558 did not fly it would be embarrassing to make contact. The people who I was dealing with were a bit suprised to say the least.

Ditto, Pugjnie, and thanks to both of you for the efforts you have made so far, it shows there is support available out there if only it can be captured.

Bullet Holes?

A sieve could hold more water and that is only with 10% surface.

Send a PM to Taff and ask him what to do next as it seems he is the one who is doing the presentations at the moment.

Would Taff still do this if the trust folds and he's made redundant in a couple of weeks?

I'm sure Taff would be the same as any of them who agreed to do a presentation - If they commit to it they would see it through unless agreed before hand, it would be only be good manors to do so.

Air, your reply almost seems to infer that we are once again making comments about Taff and co, we know what they do and will continue to do for 558, we are on their side and do what we do because of that and despite the management above them, so Taff and co, the club members and all the other supporters will continue to fight the cause no matter what.

If I have misunderstood what you wrote, then apologies. :D

Old Rigger, you have misunderstood. Wildly. :D

It was just a straighforward question. I wonder if he'd commit to something that is obviously going to take place when he could be redundant. Maybe that's why the trust/club or whoever haven't been as forthcoming.

If everything folds, then I suppose any organising would have to take place direct with Taff himself wouldn't it?

Even if it went ahead, I'm not sure I could stand an evening talking about 558 if it had just been effectively grounded. :((

If he doesn't have a confidentiality clause in his contract it could make for an interesting evening. I wouldn't blame him for pulling out if it did fold.

You have done a great job to get as far as you have, it would be a shame if this was never to happen due to the lack of commitment by the people higher up the chain. :ymapplause:

If the generals done seem to care, then why should the troops fight a losing battle. X(

So I say to all the members of the management, and the trust, have a look and see how dedicated the club members are who go out of there way to get things arranged, if you want them to stay on your side, then you must show that you are on their side as well...... you are not alone, we are all in this together fighting the same cause.

if you dont care, then please do us all (and 558) a favour, step aside and let people in who really do care, and let us get on with the task in hand, and also ensure that 558 is NEVER in this situation again.

Now,will someone from the trust please take the time to visit site like this and give us some POSITIVE feedback ;)

Thats it, rant over...........

Well done PJ, and don't give up on it all just yet. I'm surprised that you've not had any response from Ian or Richard - i always thought they were on the side of the good guys, but maybe they've not had time to sort out a proper response (a simple acknowledgement of your communications wouldn't be too much trouble to expect though?).

I agree with the suggestion about contacting Taff Stone who, in my experience, is up for talking about 558 to whomever, wherever, whenever - it's shutting him that may be the problem! ;-)

Good luck, and thanks for your efforts.

Dave.
