After all, previous posts would suggest that you think others can take over and do a better job so surely failure of the current system would be an advantage to that cause?

Just an observation.

Look, Andy, all that anyone wants is to see that
aircraft remain flying.

Posts like yours do nothing to make that happen,
and if anything they just serve to make things
even more painful than they already are.

The fact remains that 558 needs better management.

And, NO, I am NOT speaking about those that maintain
her to flying condition....

The only thing which your post accomplished was to
try to portray yourself as authoritative and "above"
this forum.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you possess the weight to
carry-off that kind of judgemental stance.

Instead of painting the entire forum with the views
of one or two individuals, I think it would be far
better if you offered some real solutions instead of
passing judgement and trying to put yourself in some
sort of superior position.

I will be interested to see what it is that you are
saying when 558 actually DOES fly this summer.
Will you praise the management for doing this?
Or will you praise those who had to bite their
tongues and give despite their knowledge of how
badly this aircraft has been run from a business
perspective?

And what will you have to say NEXT year?

Danny, I'll be very very happy if the Vulcan flies again this year, and be happy that I have contributed to it's upkeep, and no doubt next year I will contribute once again as I have done previously.

Lets not have any doubt that the management issue has been brought up many times here, so please don't try and stop me from mentioning it. Free speech etc etc etc.

As I have always maintained, I have no prior knowledge of how well things are run at VTTS so will remain neutral on that.
However I don't believe that others would be able to come in and pick up the pieces and keep 558 flying should the trust fail. It really doesn't seem as simple to me as some here seem to think it is.

All I care about is seeing the Vulcan up and about, and the only way i can see that happening is for the current lot to remain. If the funding is found, then I doubt very much you'll see the people removed from management that you want.
The fact that some don't seem to be able to grasp is that the only way you'll get rid of the current management is for the whole thing to fail.
Once that happens I don't see anyway back, which is why I continue to support what we have despite any shortcomings the management might or might not have.

If someone can convince me that there's people who can take over and do a better job, then I might change my mind. However there's nothing but rumour and gossip, and I'm not prepared to sit back and watch the whole thing come crashing down in the futile hope that someone else just might pick up the pieces.
This is my sig:

I hope it's not too inflammatory and I hope that certain people wont completely misunderstand it like they did with the last one.

I have a cunning plan!
right now I'm off into town on a 'help the vulcan ' mission and would like everybody else to do the same . I'm going in armed with as many towels, flannels and other stifling material that I can find and I'm going to gag every (even slightly) obese female that I find and promise to release the gags once the vulcan is safe. (and when I get back I shall send off my raffle tickets as a monetary donation)

Jigsaw, if you've got something to say about my posts then say it to me rather than sucking up to the mods.

If you don't like what I say but wont discuss it with me then put me on your ignore list and we'll all be happy.

Thanks.

You should know by now I don't get involved in mud slinging so I would suggest you should also keep your comments to yourself. "sucking up to the mods" =)) =))

I said what I thought, "there was no need for your post" because that is what I meant. I also agreed with D4TH, spookily enough that is why I said so. If I was going to "suck up" to anybody, it would be Pam (it's less painful).

If I had something to say to you, trust me, I would do so.
By the same token, if you felt that a simple comment warranted a private discussion, why did you not do it in PM?
If you don't want anybody to comment on your posts in a PUBLIC forum, don't post anything.
What was there to discuss with you?

Your own words, "free speech" seem to crop up rather a lot in your posts.
DO NOT then take offence at somebody dissagreeing with you.
Out of the two of us, you are far more likely to post your thoughts regarding a lot of matters on here , not me.

As for the "ignore list", be my guest. As I have yet to read anything positive from you, it will make absolutely NO difference to me X(

Now, if its ok with you, I will go back to my non mud slinging ways and enjoy this forum. It is a shame you couldn't try the same.

Pledges are now over £200K & the total required to the end of the month is £350K - I know the £650K figure is required in total is correct but I wish they would clarify it - the nearer to the target the more people are likely to pledge I would have thought.
