Oh dear u got problems with the knicker draw not shutting

i don't think it should have been opened pilot finger trouble me thinks.Looks like the towing arm was left with the adjuster still pinned to the top half when the aircraft was towed back which don't do um a lot of good i know i've done it myself.Nice pics Clive.

You're right, Mark. The adjuster was accidentally left connected, but the main pin in the sliding joint was removed, and luckily no damage was done. Need to make sure it doesn't happen again, though.

As for the knicker drawer, lets just say it was a mis-understanding.

Pleased to report that we have finished strangling the electrical gremlins which invaded '655 during the EGR a couple of weeks ago.

All serviceable again now.

Blown fuses in the AC main (primary) distribution system. They have multiple redundancy, so they all have to be tested and the bad ones replaced before load is re-applied. Just finding and fixing a few means that they will blow again when enough load is put on.

There may have been a few blown (but undetected) to start with, but then when the aircraft was abandoned during the drills, one alternator was left trying to carry the load as the engine ran down.

Reducing voltage equals increasing current equals blown fuses. In the last couple of Saturdays, Len has pulled, tested and replaced well over 100 of them.

Are yes the power bay, I remember spending a good few hours in there back in the early pre MaPS days checking all the fuses, such fun in winter time by the light of a torch.

MaPS AGM is this Saturday 4th May at 10.30 in the Wellington Room at On Track Aviation, Wellesbourne Airfield (near to the Control Tower and Touchdown Cafe).

We ask as many members as possible to attend ~ it gets rather boring if it is just the usual volunteers.

We can recommend the Touchdown Cafe for your lunch break, and in the afternoon we will be doing systems demonstrations on XM655.

It's a great model - saw it at the LMA event at Rougham a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the Sunday flight was curtailed by something falling off the aircraft, but it landed safely!

The LMA also has a very special VC10 model, which is simply stunning.
