Well informed as always my dear ;)

"Ground runs planned to start on Monday

With steady progress on reconnecting various systems to the replacement engines, there are only a few small tasks to perform before we can consider taking XH558 outside to the engine ground running pan to begin preparing her for engine start and ground running.

This will be undertaken in well-defined procedures to test all connections and ensure engine parameters are as expected, before the engines are run for some time, first at idling speed and then intermediate settings, during which we will undertake various inspections and measurements.

Providing all is well, and no further rectification work is needed, we then progress to high power runs."

Here's hoping all goes well. Hats off to Taff and the team :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

No mine says...

'Ground running test to begin shortly'

so without the Monday ref and looking at the bits I've put in italics I got the impression it would Tuesday or Wednesday....

'With steady progress on reconnecting various systems to the replacement engines, there are only a few small tasks to perform before we can consider taking XH558 outside to the engine ground running pan to begin preparing her for engine start and ground running. Etc etc...'

Still the sooner the better but I still strongly doubt Waddington even if they would change their minds. :((

Meanwhile, I am just happy 558 is
coming along well :ymapplause:

Good news indeed - but I thought they said a few weeks ago there was no access to the hangar to work over weekends?

Maybe they are going to try for Waddington. No show - no dough. Whatever, it's good news.

It would be good. Wish I knew what was involved but I don't know if they managed their practice displays etc and how far are they away from air tests?
Can't rule out a flypast or two I suppose (wishful thinking on my part maybe).

Well it wouldn't be the first time they have been busy little bees right before the Waddington air show :ymapplause: wasn't it 2008 where everything happened on the Thursday :D
I remember watching the display authorisation from the middle of my street with several neighbours :)) :)) after we'd been at Waddington most of the afternoon and had given up and gone home thinking that it wasn't going to happen.

So anything is possible :D

I just hope that everything went/goes well :ymapplause:
It's an added bonus if they make it to Waddington :)

Yes 2008 they didn't get the PtoF until 4o'clock and DT took off at 4.30 to fly straight to Waddington and do his DA.
