What about this quote from RP
This means that between now and Easter 2011 that a further £400,000 will need to find its way in to VTTST's coffers. :-O
Wonder when the supporters will find out from official sources. :-W

But from all the promises we are going to see a business plan communicated so that this amount will be collected from all the new initiatives/plans that we have all been waiting for, so there won't be another last minute panic appeal for this amount as they have posted the amount needed and can put this new business plan into action now.

Allthough it has gone quiet again on news of all these initiatives, which I can assume is merely people taking a well earned and deserved break after the high work load leading up to and immediately post the appeal success.

It will be interesting to see what is planned and see how succesful they will turn out to be, I wonder who won last months Flying Fund Draw and if there has been a big increase in the subscribers to it, as this was a good way to make money if pushed and advertised aggressively.

Despite my pessimism, I have read and listened to all available info this time around and actually got the impression that the penny might have dropped and a real change was forthcoming and am willing to accept a break for the workers to recover as it has been another busy/stressfull time for them for which they are, as allways, to be thanked and congratulated for.

All I think most want to see is evidence of it actually working and that the poor relation of any business communication is increased, improved, constant and not intermittant, inconsistant or non-existant. Without the 'its secret/confidential' or 'wait and see and then we wait and don't see'' or that old chestnut that it needs a flying Vulcan before we can do anything with the follow on that now it is flying we are to busy to implement the secret/confidential plans and it will have to wait until the winter break which I usually call something like the 'management circular non-decision plan'. The one area that has promised much and yet again appears to have disappeared was the great white saviour the Education programme, has this actually provided any worthwhile income to date.

But if they don't start soon with this new business plan to achieve the 400,000 by Easter it will end up having to be another last ditch appeal that will get launched one or two months before Easter, but I think I said before please not another one.

Well, if things go as per the norm, it shall be something like the following.

Hints dropped in interviews with newspapers, (never printed), hints dropped in radio interviews, (braodcast when no-one is actually around to hear them).
Announcement that a spectacular announcement is to be made, (sometime soon) just before Christmas.
Announcement that they now have a full and effective business plan set down in CONCRETE (same as the last one, keep everyone in the dark until the last second). (Was going to put STONE but that would be unfair to Taff).
Be too busy now, (as it is coming up to Christmas and the begging cards have to be sent out), getting ready for the Christmas Party for the staff and volunteers.
Have a 2 week break for all over the festive and New Year period.
Have to get settled back into work during the rest of January 2011.
Think how funds can be raised with the greatest of ease for the coming quarter.
Realise, (with the loud phrase of 'B*&&@R') will have to revert to the standard plan 'A', as per the past.
Announce on April 1st 2011 that they need £400,000 before Easter (April 22nd 2011) or they will have to make the Engineers redundant from April 29th 2011, having already placed them on a months notice.

Now let's look at a reality along the same lines.

I am sure that it was announced that the running costs are somewhere between £1.2M and £1.8M for the next season.
Taking this into account means that they will need to raise a minimum of £100,000 calendar month.
An average of £23,333.33p per week or £3287.67p per day.

Now that is a minimum,
But after doing a bit of googling whilst typing this I have found the following from 24th Sept 2010. VTTS news page.
http://www.vulcantothesky.org/news/122/ ... -icon.html

The Trust’s cash position as we move into the autumn is now very tight. Let the figures speak for themselves. As of 31st August, our income for the ten months since the start of our financial year (1st November 2009) was £1,966,917 against the plan of £2,441,492, a shortfall of over £474,000. Our costs though were lower than expected, at £1,880,915, against the plan of £2,160,760, a difference of £380,000, this despite having completed all the planned engineering investment. Further detail on how these figures are made up maybe seen on the accompanying pie charts. http://www.vulcantothesky.org/how-to-he ... cials.html

So my initial calculations can be almost doubled.
An average of £46,027.40p per week or £6575.34p per day.

Surely if their so called business plan is to reflect this they would be better off having the age old thermometer showing on the website home page.
This would at least show everyone where things stand each month.

On reflecting the above figures in the daylight... well... make up your own minds as to the best way to approach them.

It's a frightening thought.

As well as offering seats with the Blades Aerobatic Team to fly alongside XH558 in a recent auction to benefit BBC's Children in Need, a small team from the Trust will be present today at East Midlands Airport, where the BBC team will be hosting regional coverage of the fundraising activities.
Martin Withers and Mike Pollitt from the Air Crew will be presenting a signed framed set of photographs and will be available to meet the public. If you are able to join in, please do visit the departure terminal and show your support. Keep an eye out for any Vulcan coverage if you are in the reception area or indeed, any glimpses of us as you watch the national broadcasts on BBC One this evening.

I received this at 16.58hrs!!!!

Errrmmm if it's worth a mention why not send the info out at least yesterday!!!!

I received my email newsletter @ 16:57 today. I agree that something like the CIN event could have been sent earlier.
@MOD
I received an email reply @ 10:23 from Ian H today after I sent him an email @10:21. It was however about the web shop.

I was a member of the VTSC forum for a few years but when they set up the new site my membership was removed. I'm not a member of the club by choice but for my sins have financially supported 558 each year since I saw her at Brunti in a hanger in pieces after the original Heritage application had been rejected and apparently with no hope of ever flying again.

Thought I would log in to the VTSC forum to see what news about up coming functions and any news on the new business initiatives and about how they are going to start getting the £400,000 for next year and I cannot find anything, but I probably have not looked hard enough it is depressing really to see the lack of posts/news since the appeal success.

At least some of you got the e-mail even if it was a bit late, it seems I have also not been getting some of the news recently.

For those not receiving emails there is usually one send out on a Friday & I generally get it around 5o'clock - I just thought it a shame that more warning wasn't given so those who lived near to EMA or those who were passing could have called in should they want to!

The updates don't generally give a huge amount of new info, more a reminder of things that can be done to support 558

The email may indeed have been a bit late for action but the Children in Need evening at EMA was actually in the Events section of VTTS forum on Monday Nov.15th. i went and had a whale of a time as did the few others there ! I do however also agree that it should have been in the previous newsletter....

Pleased you enjoyed it & well done to Lee for putting it on the forum all I can think of is if they didn't know in time for last weeks email and I know it takes a lot of effort to send the emails because of the volume it's a shame it didn't make the home page of the website & if it did I missed it.

Quite possibly , hence the lack of early information on that previous letter. Maybe we should just presume they ll do it next year too and mark the date in next year s diary !!! Pro active, prudent, take your pick !!!

I see the post now in the members only section, missed it earlier. Though I would of thought something that is supposed to be for all to see to raise the profile etc of 558 and for a good cause as well should of been in the public area of the web site if not plastered all over the home page, just a bizzare idea that came to mind. ;)

Nick I have sent numerous PMs and e-mails to IanH and Paul (ISSL) without any response. I have tried to register again, just now, but I get the error message 'This username is already in use'.

I have to rely on Pam here for my updates. As someone who has (financially) supported XH558, from shortly after the day it was announced that the VDF was going to be grounded, I am not a happy bunny..
