If you make the holes big enough, it just runs straight through :D

The latest edition of the 655MaPS newsletter has been posted, so those of you who are members will have your copies shortly, Christmas post permitting. :)

It includes the Run Day and Members Day reports plus some background to the Elf'n'Safety problems this summer, and also "Operation Jordan". At 16 pages it is our biggest newsletter ever. ;)

Enjoy!!

How appropriate that for a SMALL fee you could have a SHORT meeting with the GINGER DWARF!

Trouble is - at this time of year, he's busy in lots of shopping malls wearing green tights. My wife swears she saw him at the Harlequin in Watford today. :))

Progress Report

Postby Sooty655 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 6:18 pm

As some of you may already know, our winter maintenance programme this year includes the removal of our longest hours engine for a safety inspection. This is in response to the concerns raised by RR after the discovery of 558's (non-existent) compressor corrosion problems during the 2009 season.

We started the disconnection work today, with some trepidation as the engine has been installed for more than 25 years. In fact we were faced with very few problems in the way of seized bolts and rusted joints, and by the time the light went at the end of the afternoon, pretty well everything that needs to be disconnected was either off or moving and ready to come off.

So far, so good. I will post progress reports as we go along to keep everyone up to date on the prospects for a more impressive Wings and Wheels this year.
