A good write up

[Mayfly]

I'm great fan of GAR and met Gareth Stringer at Wellesbourne last week - hopefully a couple of interesting articles coming up

[Mayfly]

and a piece from the Telegraph

[Gaz]

I'm sorry, but, all this "Returning Home" stuff in nonsense!

558's home is, was and always will be, Bruntingthorpe.

That said, the write up is very good!

[Mayfly]

Pot & kettle - boot other foot!!!

Sorry I must disagree XH558's home was and always will be Waddington in Bomber County

[Mayfly]

Absolutely - tho' Finningly is a good second

[Gaz]

Vulcan's AS A WHOLE, belong in Lincolnshire.

558, would be in bits in a scrapyard by now if it wasn't for the volunteers at Bruntingthorpe keeping her alive for so long,

SHE BELONGS AT BRUNTINGTHORPE, END OF!

[Hungry Haggis]

Shouldn't it really be 558's home is where ever she is at the time .

[Lucas1860]

The lady has come to the Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire. Her needs will be catered for, she will be treated with love and respect. Was her last show at Finningley.

Jim

[Jigsaw]

I thought Finningley was her second to last show (I was there as well) but am probably wrong. I see everyone's point here. I agree with Waddington & Finningley as her spiritual (real) home but also see where Gaz etc are coming from. Having said that. I really couldn't care less as long as, wherever she is now WORKS and extends her ability to stay in the air.

That was, for once, a very good news report!

Thank you, MrTim!

And ain't she Lovely???????????

[RLN]

Thanks MrTim. That brings back memories of watching Vulcans and Victors flying overhead when I was but a lad in Pontefract. 558 was probably one of them.

[MrTim]

And ain't she Lovely???????????

I assume you mean '558 and not Christa Ackroyd?

[Dan4th]

Mr. T

[Sooty655]

When we travel around the country on our boat, we usually watch the local BBC news for where-ever we are at the time, and we have nicknames for several of the local TV "personalities.

That's Slapper Ackroyd you're talking about.

[Jigsaw]

@ both Dan4th and Sooty
