Dear All,

It is with great pleasure we announce that - HANGAR TOURS WILL RECOMMENCE!

On behalf of VTST, the Vulcan Engineers at RAF Lyneham have once again negotiated with the Unit to allow limited public access at weekends and can announce that, by kind permission from the Station Commander, these visits will commence on Sunday 5th December.

The tours will be the same format as they were earlier this year; three tours with one at 10:30 another at 12:00 and the last at 13:30. The tour round the aircraft will last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. We intend to hold 2 tours this year, one on the 5th and the last one on the 12th December.

The tours will restart in the New Year on the 9th Jan and will continue every Sunday after that hopefully, until mid March.

Personnel interested in booking a place on one of the tours are asked to contact Toni Hunter by e-mail at tours@vulcantothesky.org or by phone on 07967 973244. Bookings will be taken up to Wednesday afternoon, 4 days in advance of the tour whereupon the list will be closed. This is so that the necessary administration and documentation can be completed in time for the visit.

Due to strict security requirements, private vehicles will not be allowed onto the unit but a minibus will be provided from a free car park nearby (not the same car park used earlier this year).

There are a limited number of places on each tour and places will be allocated on a strictly first come first served basis. Applicants will be contacted by e-mail or by phone confirming their booking and further information will be given which they will need prior to arrival.

It is worth noting that changes in security protocols will limit the photography that can be carried out within the hangar environment. Unfortunately this is outside of our control. Many thanks
