Not too happy with the green [Humbrol 30] that the instructions suggest as it looks a little too light so im going to re paint it in Humbrol 116 [the darker green on my Aardvark and Warthog models] as it looks alot closer to the real shade [ref Just Jane , I know its a Lanc but is the same scheme ;) ] .

At £90 each , im not suprised as its the same reason that I haven't got one :))

Il get some from somewhere eventhough they do replace them for free , the kits been out of production for awhile now so they might give me the same problem if I got them from Airfix ;)

Very nice, Oli.

I never have ventured into the realm of weathering. I like to think of my models as a 1:72 scale museum, with all the exhibits restored to their "Fresh off the production line" look ;)

Very nice mate :)

The Halifax is finished at last [was given to me on my birthday by Helen back in April 09] :D
Decals are from the Xtradecal Bomber Command Pt 3 sheet [X05672] and depict MZ802 "Gallopin' Gerty" of 424 Sqn RCAF based at RAF Skipton-on-Swale in October 1944 .

The kit was really showing its age [had a date stamp of 1968 on the inside of the rear fuselage] with massive amounts of flash over most parts and incomplete mouldings of others [all 4 engine necelles required alot of scratch building , filler , sanding , more filler and more sanding] .
I dont recomend this kit unless you really want a challenge ;)

Overflow from the moulding process leaving thin excess plastic on the edges of the parts , it gets worse as the moulds get worn out and old ;)
