RLN asked me in my welcome thread to post some pictures of the models I make :p

Well you asked for it and here you go ....... & this is only since I went all electric back in 2002 :D

First electric fixed wing - with a speed 400 motor and nicads - Minibat
Image
First electric helicopter - brushed motor - nicads - Piccolo
Image
Second electric fixed wing - first brushless - with lipolys - Pic400 (converted from speed 400)
Image
First large electric helicopter - Hacker Brushless motor - heading hold gyro - now on lipoly cells - Eolo

Eolo close up - carbon canopy

Eolo Guts

GWS foam Spitfire - converted to brushless and lipoly

First attempt at plan building - Barbie!

Trial attempt at a Delta with elevons with a view to building a Vulcan later!!

20 year old airframe converted from a noisy messy OS35 Internal combustion engine to Brushless and Lipoly -
Big Red - Flys much better electric than it ever did IC !!

And Finally here's my latest - a twin brushless electric - DH Comet 88 - Grosvenor House

And here's the pilot :p

the last one - does that model need a little loose-screw adjustment somewhere? ;)

impressive 'squadron' you have there Spitfire - the choppers particularly! i gather they're a nightmare to get the hang of - my mate has a couple and he crashes daily! =))

where do you fly them then? avoid Carn Brea me thinks - a little too breezy! :p

you're quite safe Spitfire - the Police have told her to keep her "Thing" chained up ;)

The choppers are indeed hard work - good setting up is crucial to get any kind of controlled flight.
The little Piccolo which is fixed pitch was a nightmare to fly at first - it needs flat calm - but I did finally get the hang of it B-)
When I got the much bigger Eolo it suddenly got a lot easier - its heavier which actually adds control and stability - collective pitch head with 3 servo swash plate - digital heading hold gyro for stability - beefy brushless motor - and much easier to hover and move around than the little one - its a whole different ball game to fixed wing - but its really just practice and a knack that you get :p ;) They are VERY twitchy though - but huge fun to fly in the garden where fixed wing I have to go up on Hayle Towans ;)

Yes I'm proud of the Comet too - hasn't flown yet - got a bit of a centre of gravity problem to sort out - battery needs to move further forward than there is room to move it X(
Twin motors sound nice though ;)

I am actually 'building' a foam ducted fan BAE Red Arrows Hawk at the moment - a new departure with the brushless motor - plenty of oomph though - well impressed - yet to fly that as well. :)

Thought I might show you how a 'gasser' model helicopter should be flown - the model in question is a T REX 700

Whilst watching this try to think of the control inputs being made and the speed they are done - and which way is up :p

Needless to say I can't fly mine like this - I can barely hover it about the garden :D
