The cafe was called "Tattoos". The fella who owned it didn't have any tattoos... but we never saw his wife.

The Packard Motor Car Company would
always wince when they heard the P-51
called "Cadillac of the Skies" since the
engines were made by them and NOT by
GM's luxury division.......

A great set of photos!

All through the 1920s and right up to
WWII, Packard was a real thorn in the
side of Cadillac. They always handily
outsold Cadillac and its companion
marque LaSalle combined, largely due
to superior quality and engineering.....

It was AFTER WWII that Packard began
to lose their stature..........

Bear in mind, Packard was tiny when
compared with General Motors, and
they had to turn a profit even when
Cadillac was allowed to lose money
during the lean years.....

And GM could NEVER have been able
to build the Merlin! They didn't have
the expertise required :D
