RIAT has USAF connections Waddington doesn't - it makes a difference, just like Leuchars can get lots of fighters.

I'm not sure but somewhere in my distant memory banks I think the wing span would cause Waddington some problems for static.
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.

I remember many years ago when at leuchars, they had a B52 fly in and that was on static display, the only problem was (if I remember correctly) that they had to tow it back down the runway to get it parked up as the wing droop was so much it would have wiped out the AR15 radar that was at the road end of the runway. :D

I would have thought that the B2 would not face that problem........ :(
