XS458 Cranfield Lightning

Postby Thumper » Mon Jan 24, 2011 8:04 pm

For those interested I thought I would post up some info on the Cranfield Lightning aka XS458.

I was set to go on 11th December for the run and even after a friend sent an email asking to be kept informed as he wanted to pay to go he never received a reply or update [-x

Should be amusing for 2011, for a non-flying aircraft they are going to retract the undercarriage. I have GOT to be there when that goes wrong happens :D

See you there Cluny :p

Unfortunately, the twilight run on the 11th of December is cancelled due to 458 not being able to have a stactic engine test run due to the bad weather.
After a lot of very intensive work on No2 engine this is all complete, but the weather has beat us and we have run out of time. I do apologise to all my supporters but 458 will be back in the Spring with a full program of events including high speed runs.
Plus, new to all of you there will be undercarriage retractions and static reheat both on the same day, and if you are really keen there will be a chance to sit in the second seat for the static reheat engine test run.
Details of these new events will be announced in January 2011.
I wish all my supporters a very Merry Christmas. See you in the New Year.

No dates up yet. I'll have to register yet another new email account so I can contact him and ask for any dates. As and when I get them I will let you know.
