Scanner frequencies

Postby Spitfire » Wed Jul 28, 2010 12:09 pm

Does anyone know whether the Vulcan has any 'favourite' frequencies when displaying or in transit ??

Culdrose today and the weather is not good - very low cloud - and I am not going to get over there due to parental committments but am listening out on my scanner.

I have got Culdrose approach, radar and tower but I'm only getting one way as I am 15 miles away.

Each ATC have their own set of frequencies that they allocate to display A/C, but I guess by now 558 has strutted her her stuff............

I've just seen the Vulcan Nah Nah Na NAh Na

Took my parents to the Gweek Seal Sanctuary today .... which is NEXT to Culdrose..... and funnily enough at 15.54 we were on our way home past Culdrose and she streaked right over the top of us at what seemed like nought feet \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/
We slowed right down in the car and saw virtually the whole display and the final brilliant part was we got to the perimeter fence right by the end of the main runway just as she did a wheels down approach - clean up - and rocket climb with coal on and the most amazing wing over I've yet seen ... just one more twitch on the control column and that would have been a roll :D :D :D :D :D Incredible B-) B-) B-) B-) (Bet it was Kev Rumens :p :p )

Drove home feeling very pleased with myself how I engineered it :ymdevil: :ymdevil:

Well Kev did seem a tad down on Sunday. If it was him, he was obviously making up for it. :D

Never thought she'd ever return to Cornwall - saw her at Culdrose last in 1988 :-o

They didn't pay for ANY big attractions this year - no Reds - No BBMF - nothing ... but suddenly they booked the Vulcan at the last minute but I was bu88ered if I was going to pay a full airshow admission just to see all the helicopters we see everyday from another angle :p :p :p

So subterfuge was all I was left with .... worth it ... saw much more of a show than at Bournemouth last year :D :D

Forget the Vulcan, how were the seals... last time I was there the otters were very coy, they hid under a plank of wood?

I was trying to hatch all manner of cunning contrivances to be there for the show, would have enjoyed seeing the Catalina, Seafire and Skyraider too. If they ever get the Gannet flying again (the one that used to be parked by the cafe at Culdrose.. apparently it is making good progress at Exeter) I will be there like a shot!
