An INTERESTING read!

Interesting. I thought this might cover the second accident involving XX253, which happened at Farnborough. I've read very little on the latter and XX253 hasn't been seen since - I assume it's still at Farnborough and that it's now wfu.

Indeed, what Farnborough incident?

Quite hard reading that report, especially for both pilots involved.

Off topic slightly but... is there anymore news on why the Hawk Display Pilot was "relieved of duties"?

The only thing I read was that he pulled a few surprise moves that were'nt on the menu as it were (pulling too much " g" )

The Farnborough incident was a small collision which resulted in damage to XX253. IIRC it was either just before the show or in one of the early show days. Either way XX253 is no longer active.

I have no recollection about that incident! I remember one of the Red's had an undercarriage problem coming in to land at RIAT last year... I think, gosh my memory is terrible!

It's still shown as one of the 13 aircraft they have on the register :-??

Extensive google and airshow forum searching brings up no further incidents involving XX253 apart from the Crete accident :-?

Perhaps XR219 could elaborate further on where he got this information from, that might help!
