I have been asked on a photo forum what the big black bulby thing is on this Sea King picture...... ;)

I always assumed it was some type of radome/radar (bag).

It's tilted backward on take off and rotated down after they are well in the air .. we see loads of them down here ...

Here's an example (and shameless plug ;) ) of that ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ from my video of this years arrivals to Waddington. Go to about 21:40. You can see it rotated up for landing.

I thought it was connected to the onboard loo.
