I'm having a "Senior Moment"....! Having placed Conningsby in my diary 14th August I'm racking my brains
as to why...? I suspect it is connected to the Canadian Lanc, am I right.....? &&&&&&& I would be greatful
for vantage point directions as it's a L............ong time since my dad was stationed there.

Normally I'd give you detailed directions to the mound or the viewing area, however I'm going out on a limb here and say you'll have to go where there's room :))

I'm not sure what the 14th is, I suspect it's the first flight post Atlantic service, but don't hold me to that :))

If you do need directions though, I'm more than happy to help

I know Coningsby like the back of my hand and if you get there early enough then you should be fine with finding somewhere to park

Be aware they are closing roads.

Old Boston Road
B1192 Langrick Road (Leagate Road/Langrick Road to Reedham Lane)

30mph Speed Limit in place on:
B1192 Langrick Road (Leagate Road/Langrick Road to Reedham Lane)

PERIOD OF RESTRICTION:
8/8/2014, 12/8/2014, 13/8/2014, 14/8/2014, 21/8/2014 &22/9/2014
(Restrictions to be implemented as & when required during this period)

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:
Local diversion routes & access arrangements will be signposted.

In other words, no access to the Mound or the Viewing area lol :))

. Unless there are plans to let people go there by car, but I doubt it very much as it says about pedestrians only.

I can understand it though, it gets mental when ever there is a do on at Coningsby (be it families day, LLA day or visitors).
As much as I want to see the two of them at Coningsby, we'd already decided not to go on the 8th, looks like that is a good decision, thanks for posting that Pam

I guess you can walk down but not sure where you could leave the car. Times like this I'm sorry my sister moved!!

I have an hair appointment that week and doubt I'll even get in the main car park so may reschedule.

I feel really sorry for the locals as people try to find alternative parking. I can't think of anywhere to go other than the bridge, but that will only be viable if they are using 07, and then I bet I won't be alone in parking there.

There are places out side of the base, I can highly recommend Tattershall castle for instance

great view, closed weekends though.

I too was thinking about there Helen, cant you ask them nicely to open the tower up for photographers for a small fee...................
