just been watching it on the news - very sad indeed

they were saying that not only did the Puma have flotation bags, but it had two self-righting life rafts - both of which were found upturned - odd

also, the immersion suits, which are compulsory for crew and pax, are supposed to be good for four to six hours

the accident was only thirteen miles offshore - all very very odd and very sad

it's the second super puma crash in couple of months, the first were lucky as it only come down 500yds from the rig
and all survived

very sad........ the North sea is never warm whatever time of year

I see they have said on todays news it was caused by a catastrophic failure of the gear box & there are now calls to ground them.........
