Canadian Lanc Grounded

Postby Mayfly » Sat Mar 21, 2009 10:25 pm

Seems they have found corrosion in the props & need $110K Canadian - the artical does state they may have found a short trem solution - This means BBMFs Lanc is currently the only one left flying.

$110,000 Canadian = about $100,000 US
(or) +/- 66,000 pounds. Not all that much,
but I certainly will hope for the best....

Doesn't she look sweet, though??????

I know its not a huge amount in the great scheme of things but we had one of her pilots stay with us a few years a ago & he indicated they always seem to struggle for money, thanks for helping out guys :ymapplause: ....if I wore a hat I would doff it to you :p

I'm coming out of paranormal retirement to do a one-off aviation based event to raise money for the Lanc in Canada. It will be at an ex WW2 airbase if I can secure it. I am working hard to do so. I was hoping to take 20 people at 50 quid each which is a grand towards keeping her flying.

I'll let you all know nearer the time if anyone wants to spend the night on an 'active' airfield.

I may have secured an underground bunker for an overnighter. My group is the only one who have been allowed to investigate and then spend the night in there afterwards. If there is enough interest from this site and another forum I am on, I will see if I can book it for a sleepover again. Anyone fancy an investigation followed by a sleepover with all the ghosties waking you up?

Would be good fun! But I am presuming that it might be another trip with too many miles to cover.

I can think of ANOTHER place that could learn from the Canucks!
