Nose doesn't appear to have room for much
of an engine, especially with the twin props....

Is the donk mounted behind the pilot driving
the prop(s) through a shaft or something?

Nose-mounted cannon looks like....

One of those German aircraft that never got
fully developed??????

As I'm on nights at the moment, and I have actually been busy tonight, I've just seen this. Stevieboy is right with the country of origin.

Dan4th- the engine is mounted as you say :ymapplause:

I didn't give you an X. It is Murkin and very few were made.

Not Bell or Curtis.

Pay attention at the back SM. You asked four questions with the third being "Murkin?". The response was XX :) X

I can see you are all struggling (except for SB), so here's a clue. It was built by a division of GM.

In terms of the practical performance against the theory, the comparison is a fair one XPL =))
(Sorry if anyone has a Vectra - don't want to keep upsetting folk)

GM = Allison, so was it thus powered?

I know GM built B-24s at their H-U-G-E
Willow Run assembly plant......

I'm gonna have to go look at GM's other
aviation connections....

Back later.

But D4th, GM purchased Willow Run in 1953, that looks too late for the subject of the picture.

Well, here 'tis.....

Fisher P-75 Eagle, six produced. Fisher Body was a subsidiary of GM and this WAS
Allison-powered with two V-12s mated together.

Oh, and Willow Run was bought BACK by GM in 1953 from Henry J. Kaiser. Originally
built by GM to turn-out B-24s and was largest building in the world for quite a while.

Here's the wiki for P-75:

I'll have something up later:::::::

No, SM, first half of 40s.

Naval, yes to the extent it had landing
gear from the F4-U Corsair.

By the time it got 1/2 way there it wasn't
needed, and 2 X 12 cylinders never gave
it the airspeed they hoped for....

Ah, well.....

Back later with what Stevieboy will probably
shoot-down toutes suites!!!!!

Image

OKAY! Perhaps too easy, but need Manufacturer, Model #
and Nickname. Oh, and a little history would be nice, too.....
