A man died and a woman was seriously injured when a light aircraft crashed in Dorset.
The plane got into difficulty over Stalbridge and came down in the Stourton Caundle area, near Sherborne, on Saturday afternoon.
Police said they had received a mayday call at 1503 BST. An off-duty officer witnessed the crash shortly afterwards.
The pilot, a man in his 60s of Hindon, Wiltshire, died at the scene and a 25-year-old woman was seriously injured.
The woman, who is also from the Hindon area, was airlifted to the Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, where her injuries were said to be non-life threatening.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) were called to investigate, Dorset Police said.
