Great to see so many Vulcan fans in one place.

My name is Benn - I am from Chicago Illinois. I had the rare opportunity to see three Vulcans in action here in the states and have been a fan ever since so I thought it would be only fitting to join up. Saw XL-390 (1978) XL-443 (1980) and XM-575 (1981) all performing at NAS Glenview, Illinois, Near Chicago. Was lucky to get a inside out tour of XM-575, along with a Nimrod that came also that year! Strange that the RAF would show up in Chicago USA for the air and water show but they were the highlight and I've been a fan ever since. Took plenty of pictures all three years and cherish those photos. (especially 1978).

Welcome to iconic xm575 is my fave Vulcan it lives just down the road from me at East Midlands airport been on many cockpit tours on her for years.

where did you download it from there are quite a few old versions of it the best ones (latest ones are on simvation)
search for vulcan or try the link

should work ok both models are ok (i think) and are slightly diferent as in full size.

Hi Benn. Welcome to Iconic.

I was at our National Archive today (looking for something else), and I came across the crew list for XM575's visit to Chicago in 1981. It was Sqn Ldr Thomas (Captain), Flt Lt Whinton (Co-pilot), Flt Lt Stevens (Nav. Plotter), Flt Lt Taylor (Nav. Radar) and Flt Lt Batty (AEO). The aircraft was looked after by two Chief Technicians, Honey and Folliard.

I don't know if the captain was DT, as only rank and surname were listed, but maybe Mayfly can enlighten us.

If you have photos, we would love to see them, so get posting.

Yes it was DT they left the UK July 20th went via Goose Bay and returned 30th via the same route.
