Hi all,
My name is Mick Gladwin I have just retired after 37 years service in the RAF. My trade was photographic with specialist training in tac-recce, in the "old" days of wet film we would undertake the loading of recce cameras and then the processing and printing of the resultant imagery, mainly from mobile processing labs or RICs (Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre) as they were known. I was in charge of the RIC that deployed to the Gulf for the last time in 2006 with the Canberra PR.9's of 39(1 PRU) Squadron, this was before the aircraft was retired from service. I have also worked in the RIC attached to II(AC) Sqn Jaguars in the mid 80' in Germany and also work in a number of highly specialized photographic units throughout my career.
I have a love for anything photo reconnaissance and to that end I started a website about the subject http://www.airrecce.co.uk. I'm about to undertake a major update on the site now that I have a lot more time on my hands.
Best regards,
Mick
