Mildenhall 24-3-11, CV-22 Ospreys and others

Postby Sickbag_andy » Thu Mar 24, 2011 11:11 pm

I visited Mildenhall twice today to try to see the Ospreys, firstly at lunch time to see if I could glean any info about the arrival of the remaining 2 ospreys and was told that they were expected around 5pm so after work I dropped in for an hour or so only ot find out at around 5.30 that they weren’t coming. Anyway I still took quite a few pics and these are a few of them

First of all the 2 ospreys that arrived yesterday evening (in the dark) unfortunately they weren’t parked in the best of places so the background is a bit grot.

Then a few other bits , there were 2 C.5s in:
This one from the New York Air Guard with Stewart on the fin, unfortunately a light pole got in the way

And this one with Travis on the tail

This local C.130 took off and went off somewhere or other

Then this one departed a little later and was still doing circuits when I left

This visiting KC.135 departed , from the tail and nose details it appeared to be from the UTAH ANG , 151st ARW

Then just as I was leaving I noticed this Kallita 747going downwind so I turned back and got these shots of it landing
